Cat diagnosed with cancer

Hello, My cat has a cancerous tumor in is abdoman. He is 18 years old so I decided to let him live his final days. The mass started to grow noticibly, then it reduced in size. My cat shows absolutely no symtoms of deterioration. I think he might be uncomfortable on his belly at times. He used to sleep with me. Now he does not. Althought we had another senior cat that used to sleep with us, and started sleeping else where when he got older. Any recommendations? I don't want to give him chemotherapy, or have him cut open. He was an adopted shelter cat, and it might freak him out. Also I think he is to old.

I generally suggest waiting until your cat's quality of life has deteriorated until he no longer is eating or grooming. Generally, if your cat is still doing those two things, he's quite content to be alive, regardless of his state.
