Good news, Tizz popped out of whatever was wrong and the vet sent her home with new food :) They wanted to do exploratory surgury to biopsy the kidneys, liver, stomach, small and large intestine, this is what they will do next time and it is going to cost $700.00 plus one weeks stay for aftercare. But she is doing good now. The new food is Hills prescription diet a/d. Is this what your feed your cats?
No they didnt do a biopsy just an x-ray and stool samples and blood samples---catsandninetails
Did they have to do a surgery to biopsy the intestines to determine what it was?
I have 2 cats with IBS and I can never give them canned food, even though they love it ,as it starts it up all over again. Keep to a simple pure recipe with a dry food formula. I feed my cats Calirornia Natural (dry) Its a salmon and sweet potato recipe--no additives--no synthetics or food coloring etc etc. as this exaccerbates their problem.--Pure and simple does it !! If they dont like it at first--try mixing it with a little of the food they do like and eventually give them just this. I can tell you--its the only thing that seems to work. Ive spent a fortune at the vets for testing and tried antibiotics when all you need to do is change their food!!
Thank you for you comments i appreciate the information and prayers. I have call in to the vet now for some solutions other than exploratory surgery on her intestines to see if it is IBD. It is nice knowing there are people out there that care:)
So sorry to hear about your cat. =/ As I posted earlier, the Humane Society might be able to help you. The url is http://www.hsus.org/pets/ and it's world wide. They get tons of donations so I would hope they'd be able to help. It's an option to look into? I hope and pray your kitty will be alright. Prayer does work also. God doesn't want to see any of us, including animals suffer or hurt.
Good luck to you
