Cat not eating much/blood found

I noticed my cat hasn't eaten much in the last 72 hours.  I thought it could have just been due to the hot days we've been having but I just looked in his litter box and there's not much in there either.  What really made me realize all of this was I found a couple of drops of blood on my window sill and while i was cleaning it up, I saw a splatter of blood on the window.  My husband thinks he ate a bug and that's what the blood was from but it seemed way more that what would come from a bug.  I can't really seem to find blood on his anus.  He doesn't seem to be bleeding anywhere else.  He's not moaning or anything.  Only other thing weird is he jumped on the dining room table before and is being a little extra clingy.  He also seems to be shedding an awful lot lately..  I'm finding clumps of hair.  He's 14 years old.  Any ideas or suggestions?  I might just end up calling the vet.

Yes it is definately time for a good checkup, tests and visuals are the only way to find out what's going on, good luck
