Cat vomiting bile over a week ;(

Please help... I have a 6 year old male - slightly over weight cat who has been healthy until now. Last Thursday he started vomiting yellow frothy bile... Waited til Monday and took him to the vet. Vet did exploratory surgery (yesterday) - after all blood work looked good and the X-ray looked good but it was hard to tell. My cat isn't drinking or eating of his own. He's on antibiotics from the surgery and an anti nausea shot - An hour after his nausea shot i gave him 3 ccs of meds to coat his belly and those stayed in..I offered water and chicken broth- he didn't want it at all. 6 hours later he just threw up again. ;( I was told they aren't sure what's causing this. Gastritis is the diagnosis for the moment- anyone have this problem and what was the outcome?? ;( it's the holiday and I have 6 children in the house- and not a ton of $ to spend.. ;( what else is there to test or look at?? He could t have ate anything or got into anything - he's indoor only...  Thanks
