Cats and Amoxicillin

My cat had a cyst (abcyst) on his neck. It burst on its own. We cleaned it and shaved the area around it. Will giving him human brand amoxicillin hurt him? Also will putting triple antibiotic cream on the area hurt him?

cats do use human antibiotics...however these medications can also be toxic if the dose is wrong...remember the weight of kitty is much less than that of a human ALSO there has to be a long enough supply to kill the bacteria or you will run into a super infection if only partially treated.
Best if kitty is seen by a Vet and you can than ask this question yourself...the Vet will tell you if its the right antibiotic and the correct dosage and for how long the kitty needs to take the med to completely kill the infection....
an office visit is only a few dollars and well worth it for the safety and health of your loving pet.
