Cone-grrr

Any suggestions on what to do help Ollie since he is going to have to wear a cone?  It's going to be miserable for him because it is going to be right up next to his sore.  I took it off him last night as soon as he got home, but he scratched at it this morning so I'm going to have put it back on.  They gave me the hard plastic thing- poor kitty.  I know I can get the soft ones at Petco, but it's still going to be obnoxious where it will be located.  

Any suggestions??

He might actually leave the shirt on since it's been so cold.  

He still hasn't clawed on it but I imagine he will as it heals.  He has rubbed it on the carpet while I rub his tummy.  I'm the only person he lets do that.  :)  

He's not supposed to go outside so he is getting huffy since the door is closed.  It won't matter the next couple of days anyway-we are supposed to get 12-15 inches of snow the next 36 hours.  I don't like snow.  :(

Good Lord, cats despise those hard cones!!  They act like something's got them with that hard cone on and they refuse to move!!  Our cats did very well with the soft cones.

I wouldn't even go there with the clothes.  Ollie will yank them off quicker than he would go running to you for a treat.  =)

thanks for that link Jade...these are just awesome...so much more humane than those stiff old plastic collars where kitties can't even walk or eat properly with them on....
the only time I had to use one I cut the plastic down 1/2 way to make it less cumbersome but these are just so much more cozy looking...a pillow!!!!

When I got home, my parents said Oliver had not been scratching, so I'm in the wait and see mode.  

I did think about it more and I think a sock or baby size turtleneck might work.  I just need something that would cover the bottom of his jaw and some of his neck.  

We will see.  It's going to get itchy as it heals.

Poor Ollie.  No cat wants to wear that cone.  My only suggestion would be your thought which is the softer ones.  I think if you were able to trim either cone so Ollie could have some peripheral vision, might help some with the freak out factor.

Good luck.  Maybe someone else will have an idea...

I dont know exactly what is Ollie problem but you can try it, if the soft one didnt work ,
