Thanks , Susan, for the info and test results. Good to know for future parasites and fleas.

All the best to Earth Mother and her gang!

Hi, I've been feeding it to the kitties, two kittens and two adults for a month now.
The one adult I KNOW had tapeworms.  Within the first 4 days, her hair started to grow back. *she was thinned out/almost gone, from the shoulders down to the tail.  She has allergies too, but the worms can do that as well I read.  Her hair started to grow back and she looks better.  The other cats seem to be doing well, wasn't 100% sure they had worms, but one of the new kittens had never been wormed. (*and they have fleas; I'm waiting on meds for that)  I wasn't as comfortable putting DE on them as my dogs, but they are all getting it in their food for parasites. (My dog looks better too! gained some weight, pretty sure he had tapeworm)
Did your friends say anything about they themselves taking DE Food Grade?

well thank you for all that info, I did check into it further with some holistic people I know and you are 100% right!!! DE is a safe treatment for parasites...internally, but yes be very sure its 100% FOOD GRADE!!!

so yes therefore by all means lightly massage a small amount into the fur to rid of fleas also...it works great for flea control.
just a word of caution, when adding to the food, start with just a tiny amount..like 1/2 teas to be sure kitty tolerates it ok..I do this with anything new I ever add to their food...

good luck, let us know how it works...:)

Hi, i just saw your comment.  I only know of 2 people that are taking it, 1 for arthritis, and the other as a "Detox"....but as long as it is 100% food grade, I believe it to be safe.  I'm going off the people I know not dying, nor my cats and dogs that I have fed it to all month long. Also the many testimonies you can read on the internet.  Honestly, one never knows the real truth, just have to research it for yourself and make a decision.  One of the DE is poisonous if taken because it is used in pools and something else, so again, IT HAS TO BE 100% FOOD GRADE DIATOMACEOUS EARTH  to ingest it.
I am amazed by this stuff.

Hi, the Diatomaceous Earth IS for internal parasites....I initially got it from a pet store here for tapeworms in my cat (and dog) then the clerk proceeded to tell me SHE took it for her Arthritis!!!  My cat hasn't looked this good in a long time...she was missing fur and it started to come back in the first week of using DE!!!  Now as for the clerk, LOOK UP all the info on DE! It is AMAZING what it does for humans!
The reason I posted the question is my cats have Ear mites...so I have to take care of it too, and the fleas on them.  But because DE isn't a "pesticide", I think it will be ok to use both at the same time.  *HAS TO BE 100%FOOD GRADE.  You don't want to inhale it, or get it in your pets eyes or ears.  Read up on it...AMAZING stuff  Cats i think get 1 teaspoon in their wet food, and kittens get 1/2 teaspoon.  There are charts on the internet on DE sites.  You have to use it for I think 90 days to rid them of the parasites.

Ya know I think that was what we used to keep the ant population away from the food bowels at the rescue.  We put it around the entire outside of the place.

Never even knew there was a "food/Organic grade!!!  I swear I never stop learning things here.

While we are on the subject, though, is there anything you can give your pets for internal parasites that is safe and does not require a prescription?????

Thanks, as always Opus!

I know you've read on some sites it's ok to feed D-earth! however it is NOT, I don't even like to use it topically on an animal b/c they would ingest it. You can treat the carpets an furniture as well as the outside of the home as long as you are very careful so you or your pets don't inhale the fine dust, wear a mask an keep pets away while sprinkling an also afterwards when vacuuming up, it's very harmful to the lungs
