Different cat food = different mood?

I usually feed my cat 9 Lives Daily Essentials. She eats whenever she wants, I don't feel it's right to limit her food. She is not fat at all. She also gets tartar control treats twice a day.

Anyway, i bought a random box of food, just for the heck of it to see if she'd eat it. I think it was... something about grillers blend, it was by Purnia.

Meili (May-lee) LOVED IT. She didn't eat her normal food unless the other food was gone, and she started eating more and drinking more, but she was also running around more. And she ran through the house a lot to begin with! She seemed a lot happier and more playful.

Is this good? Should I keep her on this new food?
I've never seen her so happy and hyper and it made me so happy.
She's always there when I wake up, and she'll follow me around allll morning before school.
She comes running when I get home, and follows me, DEMANDING to be petted... I love my baby Girl <3

ANYWAY, what do you think about the food sitiation?

I've never been very fond of any 9 lives products, and neither are any of the cats I've had over the years.  Both products are adequate but not great, nutritionally. So if she prefers the Purina, by all means go with that.

I got that because it sounded good for her, but if I can find a bulk bag of the other food, she will be switched to that.

Just like with people, our pets are definitely affected by the foods they eat.  If my cat smells some kind of tasty baked good, she wants it.  Like people, she wants to eat the foods she is actually allergic to.  If I allowed her to, she would inhale a tasty muffin, but she is allergic to grains.
