Dilated pupils

I adopted a 3 yr old cat 5 days ago. she is fixed and has all her shots previously from me adopting her. she also has a chip in her neck. she has a good medical history. 2 days ago when i came home i noticed she had gotten sick. she was fine yesterday. now again today she has gotten sick 3x in 2 hours. i noticed off and on her eyes dialate the past few days though. she is on the science diet as well and has been for years according to the previous owner. can they be like this due to her vomitting?

Hi,

No, her eyes are not dilating because of the vomitting, although you could be seeing two symptoms of the same condition.

Periodic eye dilation like you describe could very likely be due to high blood pressure or possibly a toxin that she came into contact with.  If left untreated, it could actually lead to blindness.  You should really get her to a vet ASAP.

Cats deal with blindness better than humans, but you still don't want to take a chance.

Keep us posted, ok?
