Does my 3 week old kitten have rabies?

Yesterday, our 3 week old kitten accidentally scratched me while he was walking around our floor. He licked the scratch afterwards. No blood. Only a painful puncture made by his paws. Just to give you a background about him. He lives with his mother kitten whom we temporarily adopted. He is sometimes playful with his siblings and sometimes a loner(wants to be left out inside the box). Before he was the fattest of them all, now he only has average weight. Right now, I feel excessive saliva production but not to the extent that I am drooling. Is this because I'm getting paranoid. I only got 3 hours sleep because of horrible thinking. Please help!

Does licking on open pores of a 1 week old kitten can cause rabies? She is frightened whenever I lift her and feed her. Then cuddle her in my lap and arms afterwards, and then she will lick me and I do not know what she really do, I just feel that she licks me. I feel nothing until I felt a numb and a little burning sensation. And now I feel heavy and weak, I've searched online and discovered that those were symptoms of rabies.

It is normal for a 1 week old kitten to be frightened when you pick it up and away from its mother.  It probably just wants to nurse on its mother.  I wouldn't worry too much about a kitten licking an open wound.  I suppose you could get a minor infection from that, but not rabies.  Clean your wound with rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide and then just use some Neosporin or Bacitracin and cover your wound until it heals.  I doubt very much that the tiny kitten has rabies.

No, you would know if the cat was rabid.  It would be very sick, and would be behaving strangely.  Rabies is very rare in cats.

I got bitten early today. I fed my two kittens and one bit me. hes also 3weeks old. I washed the puncture with soap and running water. will I get rabies? my puncture bled and Im scared now- carisse

NOOOO this isn't rabies you don't need to be scared....this kitty was probably in a fight or has ringworm or some other skin disease, some of these are contagious but not rabies...

My kitten is like 4 weeks and it has a bald spot on it head I touched and I got scared does it have rabies?

Kittens, like people, go through growing stages in body as well as in personality...what we humans do with that growth in 15 years, your little fella will do in one year.

Kitties are also hunters by nature, and the kittens will respond to instinct much more readily than an older cat who has learned to curb their instincts.  So kitten biting or scratching you is an instinctive defense mechanism as he has no experience yet to know that you are a safe creature in his life.  Play with him with toys always, so your hands never become a plaything.

As for the weight loss, perhaps the kittens need to see the vet for worming.  No matter how healthy mama cat seems to be, the little parasites make it into the best kept kitties sometimes.

If he's foaming at the mouth and acting bonkers then he has rabies... if not he should be fine.

I believe you are just experiencing some paranoia as you thought....unless the mother cat or kitten in question is showing some signs of being very ill...there is virtually little chance they are rabid.....relax!!
