Eating too much!

Hi Everyone
Our girl cat was spayed about 2 montts ago. She is 5.5 yrs old so we were a bit late in doing it. Does anyone know if it's normal for your cat to constantly beg for food, even after she has been fed, after spaying? We used to feed her one meal at dinner but have a constant supply of biscuts out for her, but per vets advice, we feed her twice a day and a small handfull of biscuts around lunch time. She begs for food constantly, even stealing it off our plates! We have de-wormed her, so that is out of the picture, but I am at a loss of what else to do!

If anyone had any advice, it would be much appreciated!
Thanks :-)

She doesn't have any other interests now but food lol.  Seriously before it was male cats, now it's looking for attention from you and eating, that's about it.  I'd get her some new toys, new scratcher, catnip and not keep the food dish out so she can self feed, if she doens't finish it, discard it.  If she is hungry use dry cat treats like temptations or one of the brands as a special thing to look forward to.

We have an 'in-house' cat in the clinic where I work.  She acts as if she is starving all of the time, when the fact is that she is fed regularly, more than once a day, plus treats.  I would think that as long as you refuse to over-feed her (obese cats suffer alot of problems), she should be okay.  Show her love in other ways, petting + playing with her more, so she can learn to be happy when she is not being fed.  And see your vet if there is no improvement.  Good luck! - Blu
