Fighting cats

I have a 13 year old Siamese cat that has always been the dominate cat in our house. And she still is most  of the time even though she is getting a little frail. Her breed is very vocal but she has been excessively vocal lately. I'm taking her to the vet soon but she doesn't get around very well. This movement problem has been going on for a while bit the meowing has taken a turn for the worse. I think she has some back pain. Anyway the younger cats (ages 4 &5) always got along fine but now they are alway challenging each other and fight quite often. Can they sense that the old one is failing. Are they fighting for dominance or is it more like sibling rivalry. They act jealous of me. If one gets attention the other might attack. It's never terribly serious. More.bruised egos than anything. Someone always backs down but not always the same cat. They are all females and I've had them all since they were kittens. One of them just recently swatted at the old girl but she didn't back down. What's up with them.

I live in the country in Mn but we do have a few neighbors close to use. One of them really hates cats and has told me she will shoot  any of my cats that might cross her property line. The idea terrifies me. I do have a nice rabbit hutch that my girl like to go sit in when the weather is warm. They like it so much in fact that sometimes I have really hard time getting the out. One of the is leash trained and gets really excited to go out. She just looses her mind when she sees the leash. She runs to the door and meows excitedly Shr almost acts like a dog sometimes. But right now it's so cold out that I don't want them outside. Maybe it's time to switch up some toys. As for the old one I plan to call the vet tomorrow
