Yay, wonderful news!
"Beener had no idea"...lol
We put Zachary in the big open kennel when we moved him. The other boys we picked up and put in the car and they rode on the front seat and floor. I pulled into the garage and closed it and left my car doors open so they could come out when they wanted and felt comfortable. Had the litter boxes and food set up so that when they came out of the car they would know where it was :). Beener had no idea and bolted in the house-so he was fine LOL. Elmo/Gizmo the babies were fine. Pepper/Milo took a little time and Zachary hid for a few hours LOL. But he is out and active and they are all doing great!
Hi, I've got 2 suggestions for you. First, before transporting kitty to the new home ask the vet for a sedative(in pill form) that you can give him before the trip. That will probably prevent a seizure.
And, suggestion 2, maybe the vet can put your cat on a trial of epilepsy treatment to see how he does on that. Hopefully, your vet will be willing to do this trial!
Good luck!
same goes for me kitty momma, hope all is well with the boys and the move is progressing well...hope it didn't upset Zackary:))
update us when able to, can imagine your one busy lady right now:))
Hey honey, thinking of you and Zachary today. I hope there hasn't been anymore seizure type activity with him, and he is back to himself by now.
Praying the move is going smoothly! ♥
I mean you did nothing - mistypes
Hon, I did nothing for him! It was just a game, who could expected such reaction for him???
My cats enjoy to be closed in a box and even if a cat doesnt ,the more I would expect about was it running away...
Hoping move go well and smooth...
He is doing good today. Things are crazy as we are in the middle of moving and I can tell he seems a little "unsettled". He is acting normal. Im afraid to move him Friday night to the new house. He does not like the car or the carrier and last time he was in the carrier he had a "fit". Im going to move him and Beener together in the kennel I think. Its not a far drive at all less than a mile. The Vet isn't too concerned. But he is due for a check-up soon so I will address this again with him. I want his thyroid checked. He still isn't gaining weight from the easter grass incident a few years ago. I just feel so bad I did that to him :(
Typing too fast, sorry for the errors...
Ohmygosh bkitty, please don't blame yourself here, in fact, stop that right now! It's not like you purposely set out to hurt Zachary. Yeah, now you know not to do THAT again, but forgive yourself please.
I think you might have the Cat Scan done, and here's why. My last kitty, Abby had something going on like this although not nearly to this extent. We do believe she was having some kind of seizures though, as several times she came home looking freaked with her eyes dilated. We think it from from a neighbor boy kicking her in the head when she was tiny. Anyway, one day she drags herself to the house (she had been gone ALL day, I couldn't find her; she was probably lying somewhere unable to move) with paralysis of her back leg. We also see she has a deep scrape on her tummy that ended up being stitched. We looked EVERYWHERE outside for a clue to what happened. We found a tiny bit of fur on a tree branch and could only assume she fell from the tree having a seizure acquiring a brain injury.
My point is, Zachary could be up high in your home somewhere, have a 'fit', seizure, whatever happened, and fall hurting himself badly. I realize you say it's only happened when he's in a frightening situation, but if you have the time and money, I think I'd investigate further.
So sorry this happened. Hugs to you honey.
Fortunately, in many ways, our cats recover quicker than do we.
Fortunately, in many ways, we learn from our deeds and can foresee the consequences of repeating them.
It reads like Zachary still sees you as a being worthy of trust and affection, and like Beener cares for Zach, too.
If his behavior is returning to normal, I'd at least consult with your regular vet about the happening.
He is giving himself a bath now. That's a good sign. Still pacing a little bit.
