Guinea pig bleeding

Hi

I know this forum is for cats but I am v worried ab my female guinea pig .  She is fr a rescue home in 2012 Dec n  is ab 2/3yrs old and in the last 6/7 wks has bled twice fr her vulva. I have taken her go the vet the first time he said to wait n see if she stops or a poss £309 ex ray n operation to remove her womb?  I think despite the fact g.p's are not meant to bleed on there menstruation cycle , that she does..she has stopped bleeding ag this 2nd time aft one day. Is this poss connected wth her menstruation?? Pls help

sounds to me like she has an inter-uterine  infection going on, didn't the Vet take a sample to test or try an antibiotic? I would try that before resorting to xrays and surgery....good luck♥
