HISSIE STAYING AT THE VET

I am sorry for not posting sooner after Hissie's vet appointment. I was up at 5 am with Hissie yesterday morning. After I took Hisse to vet late yesterday afternoon, I came home ate and went to bed early. I was just wore out. Plus, I just think the stress of worrying so about Hiss, just finally caught up with me. I had to leave Hissie at the vet. Hopefully, it is just for the one night. Sure never the same when my old girl not here with me. Hissie WAS very constipated. Vet gave her an enema and a stool softener, while me and my husband were there. Vet said there was a big chunk of hard poop in her rectum. So, all should be just fine with my Hissie Girl. As I have kept promising on here, I vow to change Hissie's diet, the very minute she gets home. Commercial catfoods are in the trash and never ever to be bought again. I know her diet greatly contributed to my poor kitty having to go through so much the past month. I am very lucky that Hiss has no serious health issues. I was talking with a lady at the vet's yesterday. She too had a 15 yr. old kitty that was a diabetic. And her kitty was not doing very well. So, I feel very blessed that my kitty at 15 is healthy. But, I know with all that is in me, that I got to change Hissie's diet, if I am to keep her healthy. Hissie not a happy camper right now at all. As soon as I bought out her cat carrier yesterday, she knew where she was going. She a real anxious and reclusive kitty. But, not with me and my husband. Everyone that works at the vet's office, says she though is a sweet and good little patient. So, I thank the good Lord above, that my Hissie will be fine. I so thank you my friends for helping me and Hiss. Without your alls support and sweetness, I would have been so lost the past month or so. And I am very thankful that Hiss is strong and such a fighter. I try to be the very best momma to my kitty that I know how to be. But, it so easy to be that way with Hiss. She is just a sweetie pie, that deserves the very best. She a beautiful cat and very intelligent as well. I taught her some cute little things that she does for me. And she caught onto them so quickly. She is white with big auburn patches on her. Has real thick coat of hair. I keep her groomed. Vet gave her a bath about a month ago. And she has beautiful eyes, that are so expressive. My husband does not call her Hissie. He always calls her Miss Hissie. My husband says he calls her that, as she very much has my husband's respect. He just as crazy about her as I am. I am missing Hissie right now, but I know this story has a happy ending. I just cannot imagine my life or my home without Hissie in it. And I got to believe, that God is going to give us some more years with this precious beloved kitty. I have to call the vet at 10 am this morning. So, I am hoping that the vet will tell me, that I can pick Hiss up today. I will let you all know how she is doing. GOD BLESS EACH ONE OF YOU AND YOUR SWEET LITTLE PETS AS WELL.   Linda

I just talked to the vet. Hissie won't be coming home today afterall. I am heartbroken and now getting into panic mode here. The enema and stool softener did not work. Hissie has yet to have a bowel movement. I was really shocked to hear this. I had three children. I was given enemas with all three children, during the birth process. I always have had stubborn bowels myself. But, the enemas always worked on me. The vet has given her more meds and will do another enema tomorrow. I can say one thing about this vet. She always tries to do the most simple method first, before trying anything invasive. I took Hiss to the same vet, that did the intestional surgery, as she knows Hissie's history. And they treat Hissie like a baby at this vet's office. Now, I am only worried that maybe she is impacted. I thought I was getting her to the vet in time. Maybe I didn't. And I am only blaming myself at this point. Plus, I have been feeding her totally wrong for 3 yrs. now. I grew up in the era, where 9 Lives and Friskies were considered good foods. Well, science of cats has changed. I should have kept up with that. PrettyKitty, I know you are so right about diet. I have been researching on diets of cats. The research I am finding is to stay away from commercial catfoods. They are strictly carnivores. And commercial catfoods do have grains in them. Cats systems cannot process these grains. And I have never had a 15 yr. old cat before. I just did not know these things. I feel so ignorant. I am definitely going to use the enzymes, too. Your words have not been lost on me. I am definitely a  big believer now, that proper diet truly matters with our kitties. I will do anything for my baby girl Hissie. I believe everyone on here knows how dearly and deeply I love my Hissie. I will keep you all updated on what is going on with Hissie. I am just right now trying to absorb the fact, that Hissie has yet to poop and will be gone another day from home. I know that she is so scared right now. I know my old girl. And that just is breaking my heart in two. My husband and me both agreed last night, that the house seems so lonely and empty without Hissie here. Well at this point, I am praying and praying that she has a bowel movement. Hissie went through a terrible ordeal with the intestional surgery. She was in so much pain. I just do not want her to have to endure anymore such pain. I still feel positive and have hope. But, I have to say, I am also afraid. I have been on pins and needles for over a month now, since Hissie first took sick. I just had gotten her back on her feet and now this. Poor little baby. Thank you all so much for listening to me blubber over my cat. But, I know you all understand totally. I thank God for you all.    Linda

See what I mean? I had a good feeling about this!!! Thank God it isn’t hairballs!! From now on, even though you’ll get her some high quality, grain free foods, remember to add digestive enzymes and physillium. You do not need to add physillium husk every day; but it would be good for her to eat this every so often. Her stools will never have problems coming out. I promise you that. Research on these two things I talked to you about and see for yourself what I mean. I give it to my cats. It brings so many beneficial outcomes to them. Hissie will do great on a better diet. You’re right. Constipation is caused by some lacking or something in excess. I think the grains in the food are to blame. Take good care of her. And take care of yourself. I know how exhausted one can get after a vet visit.

Hugs!!!
