Thank u to everyone that has helped me
Since I did what everyone said gizmo has
Not had an asthma attack since
Ok thank u for the advice
It can be asthma induced by allergies which is quite common with cats. I agree with everything CML has said. Avoid any kind of perfumes, air fresheners, ect.
Thanks for the websites and all the advice I'm sure that gizmo will be fine with you helping me thanks
Hi Bombay,
Opus has pretty much covered the bases with info on the Internet.
I can only add my Meezy has Asthma and as I mentioned in my previous post to you, it is controlled with an inhaler with the med Flovent . This is a steroid, but it goes directly into the lungs.
The vet should take x-.rays to be able to see how serious it is and diagnose the proper amount of Flovent You will know when your Gizmo is having an attack when she acts like she is going to throw up a hairball, but doesn't. Her head will be stretched out low to the ground and it really will almost sound like she is coughing.
Don't worry lots of cats have asthma as you will see with the info Opus has given you. So Gizmo , with the proper meds will be ok. You will just need to limit, air fresheners, perfumes, and sometimes laundry detergent on their bedding. Cat Litter dust is also bad. I use Pearlites--has NO dust.
Also go to that Yahoo site "Feline Asthma" that is where I found out my cat had it.
Keep us posted on little Gizmo, K?
