Is something wrong with my cats eye?

My cat slept all day so I did not notice anything wrong with his eye until this evening. He is squinting (or maybe it is swollen), draining clear fluid, warmer ears than usual ears. He still wants attention and to be petted but does seem to be acting a little different, definitely whiney and maybe a little more attached to me than usual. He is just laying around (and I know a lot of cats do that but usually he does not) and I have not seen him eat since waking so I think maybe he is not feeling well.

Do you think is a eye infection? I am going to see how it is in the morning and if the same or not better take him to the vet. He was just there not too long ago for ear infections. I have to think of him sick again...it makes me feel horrible.

I would call the vet now to ask them but they are not going to be open, of course.

How unusual. Perhaps kitty should spend less time looking and more time pouncing. :)

I'm glad he's he's feeling better. We have one type of spider around here called the "yellow sac spider" or something like that. It likes to make nests in closets amidst the hanging clothes. We live in fear of it's very poisonous bite. *yech!*

Took him this morning to the vet and he had a spider bite very, very close to his eye. He is doing much better already...the swelling is already going down, draining has gotten better. He is going to be just fine and I am sure this is a result of his getting into things in the basement.

It sounds like the start of an eye infection. If it doesn't improve at all take him in to the vet. Eye infections can abscess quickly, leading to blindness.
