Just a check up

Hi guys, 2 weeks ago my partner and I adopted 2 newborn kittens (they were 36 hours old at the time) and I just wanted to tell you how they're doing and see if we're doing things right. Their names are Tim and Tammy! their eyes are open & their little ears are still folded, that seems normal. They eat 30-40ml a day. They are LOUD! They walk around like little lizards lol. They love to snuggle and I had a panic attack a few days ago cos I thought they were having digestion problems.... Nope, they were purring :) I didn't no they purred this young.
the only hiccough seems to be weight gain. They ARE gaining but slowly. They're currently 122 and 126 grams. A bit small for 2 weeks, but when we brought them in they were only taking 10 ml a day for nearly a week cos their little tummies were shrunk from lack of food. They're very adventuresome. Climbers, and tim loves dark places like my pants leg if I pop him on the ground.
They never took to the bottle. The ones we got had a very thick rubber teat even though it says ts for baby animals, we pierced it in multiple ways and it just wouldn't work!
They don't have fleas. We took them to the vet the day we found them and she treated their fleas for us for free, as well as teaching us how to care for them. She is really the reason they are still alive.
They recognise me now, and they love to chew on my fingers and hand. I keep a big eye on them and they do NT chew each other at all.
I believe that they play. She'll sit on his head then he'll return the favour. They dog pile ALLLLLLL the time. If she bugs him he kicks her in the head.
I'm not too sure what else to say. I think part of the reason they haven't gained much weight is they are very active. They are in a tiny box but they do laps of it. Behaviourally it feels like they're older than 2 weeks.

So what do you think? Are my babies on the way to being big annoying cats? We are getting them worked this week for the first time.

If you use a veterinary product made specifically for kittens, if it is an emergency (i.e., the kitten's stomach is a solid ball of worms), you might try it this early if the vet advises you to.  But in my world with my cats, it would have to be a real emergency.  Don't use anything over-the-counter.

I know your Vet will disagree totally with this but I would strongly advise you to wait until kittens are at LEAST 6-8weeks old before using a dewormer on them.....this are very harsh especially on ones struggling to gain weight and thrive already....here in Canada thats never advised before that age and only than IF very healthy!!!! please put off for another 6 weeks at least..:))

aww sounds so cute, I'd love a kitten:) youre doing a great job cat88...tell me what do you mean by getting them 'worked' this week? not vac's so young I HOPE...?

annie is right these kitties will be totally socialized and yes big annoying spoiled kitties, just the way we like them...lol

They sound like they are doing great.  Did you ever get a stomach tube for feeding them?  They are a lot more convenient (and a whole lot less messy) than a bottle, once you get the hang of it.  

Because of all the early handling and bonding with humans, these kitties will be totally well socialized and never spooky of people.  That's going to be one pair of wonderful cats.
