Kitten suddenly vomiting

Hi, I have a 4 month old long haired kitten, he has had a healthy appetite since I got him at just under 2 mos old. I have been feeding him kitten's eukanuba and he loves it. He is an entirely indoor cat. Suddenly yesterday when I was home on a work break I noticed a couple spots on the floor. At first I thought for some reason he didn't use his box and the thought puzzled me, but I smelled it and it had only a faint scent of cat food. So I thought maybe it was a hairball and would clear out, his appetite hadn't changed. But he vomited 3-5 more times that day and only pooped one more time. He ate little food. At first the vomit was clear, then once it had food in it, and this morning he has gone to sniff at his food and walked away. He hasn't pooped again yet and has just vomited for the first time today, slightly yellow clear liquid, and it has a slight heavy scent to it. I'm not sure how to describe it. He is alert and a little interested in playing but mostly just curling up and looking around today. His stomach doesn't seem to be sensitive and he's not talking to me like he does when he wants something. I don't have money for the vet right now unless I use bill money so I hate to do that if this doesn't require a vet. What can you advise?

I'd give it a day or two.  Cats have very sensitive stomachs-they get upset very easily.  Also, since he's long-haired, it very well could be hairballs.  I'd start giving him either a hairball remedy or white petroleum jelly every single day to prevent this.  Give him about a marble size glob....see if he'll lick it off your finger, and if he doesn't put it directly in the side of his mouth.  I give the petr. jelly every day to my cat, and she gets hairballs a lot.  This has helped her BIG time!
