Kitty going Camping

My oldest cat, Simba, has been diagnosed with diabetes about 6 months ago. He is on insulin twice a day and is now doing very well. Every summer my family goes out for a camping trip and I cannot leave Simba at home this year because of his diabetes. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or recomendations on taking my cat camping with us.

awww heres the one I meant. and its $69.99 a much better price. would work wonderful.
I haven't ordered thru drsfosterandsmith but I do know many that have, its a reputable co.
I have placed 'other' international orders thru places such as vitamin suppliers and my order was delivered here in Canada within a week and no brokerage fees or any additional costs.

heres one system also avail in Canada.
several good options, the deck and patio one seems to be the cheapest. at $115. if you would have further use for it after camping? otherwise expensive. I haven't found the 'tent' idea yet it was alot more reasonable If I remember.

playpen...thats an idea, would need a top of some sort on it tho.
they do make wonderful, cat tents, they look similar to the small 'food tents' that we get to put over meat etc. on a bbq table,  I think they have a bottom on them as well. would be perfect for him.
I think I saw them on amazon.com
I will try and find the link for you if you are interested?..oh I see you are also in Canada, not sure if they are avail at amazon.ca or not? will try and check see if I still have the link.

No trailer. We will be tenting. But I have a leash and looking to get a harness. He is 14 so he does not very far. I was also looking into getting a playpen for him.

will you be in a trailer or somewhere secure for kitty so he won't get out and lost?
make sure to have a travel cage along too so kitty has a safe place to tuck himself into and use when necessary for safety.
bring along familiar things such as bedding, toys, dishes. new surroundings can be very stressful.
also be sure to not keep kitty in a hot trailer or vehicle...keep him cool and comfortable and safe is about all I can really recommend to you.
good for you for looking after your boy with this life altering illness, to be available 2x a day for injections is a real commitment....I love the name Simba.
Please let us know how the trip goes for Simba and the family. best of luck
