Legs trembling on a cat with plasma cell pododermatitis

My picture is of my kitty's feet, nicknamed Podo, who had plasma cell pododermatitis.  It was taken March 13, 2012.  Both front feet were affected.  The masses were excised, he was given a shot of I think depo, and was on Doxy for weeks.  It took three months, but he is totally cured so far, over a year later.  One problem I've noticed recently, though, his front legs tremble a  bit when he is standing.  Is there anyone who has a similar problem?  He is  FIV+.  Was caught outside and used to be feral, is not pretty much a mush, but won't tolerate me handling his feet.

hi...I searched out these drugs to see if either could have caused a side effect such as trembling in the limbs..I've seen nothing stating that exactly and its been a year now so can't imagine side effects cropping up this late in the game....
I would really urge you to get kitty to a Vet and get this checked out...some bloodwork done. It could be a sign of something serious going on but I'm not just sure what?
the poor little guy sure had awful sore little feet....I am so happy to hear at least that has cleared for him...I wonder tho if perhaps he may have some nerve related pain in the pads of his feet now?? again a Vet could exam and tell you if he thinks thats what could be going on.

how is his appetite? and his drinking? more or less lately or same?

keep us updated please..♥

It is hard to examine him.  The picture was at the clinic; he was under sedation, just before he underwent surgery.  He was pretty feral back then.  Sometimes playfully whacks me and uses the scratching post with relish, but I can't examine his feet.  I have him with two other FIV+ kitties in a shed in my backyard (insulated, heated).  He seems to eat well.  He is due to be updated for his rabies vax.  Not sure if he should see a specialist?  The doc at the clinic has left to begin her emergency practice.  She was awesome.  Had to separate the oads from the mass.

Imagine him being outside with his paws so bloody, trying to walk on those masses?  Poor guy.  I often get the "train wrecks", but what would have been their fate if they didn't end up with me?

I rescued a feral cat that was almost in the same condition as your Podo.  I don't know what could be causing the trembling but the fact that he was feral for so long could be part of it.  God only knows what types of chemicals these babies get into or what gets done to them by non animal liking people.  I would hold off on his vaccines until he has a clean bill of heath, the shots are really hard on their little bodies even when they aren't sick.  I would just keep an eye on him and get him checked out by a vet as soon as you can.

Please keep us posted, I am curious to see what it is that is causing it and whether its related to the pododermatitis.

From one train wreck rescuer to another, thank you for not giving up on him!  I know it can be exhausting at times but they are the ones who really benefit from your giving spirit.  Their fate was to end up with you, they picked you!

I just got back an email from the wonderful doctor who excised the masses last year from Podo's front feet.  She said she would be glad to see him, although she is now an emergency vet, open nights and weekends.  I will work something out.  She knows what he's been though.  He seems very healthy, although he is FIV+.  His fur is shiny, he is a bit chubby and he does love to be pet.  Until Podo, I never heard of this condition.  Horrible to think about ferals out there untreated.
