She's outside at this moment picking some sun
She will be there til about 5pm when I will be back home, hope all continuing ok
She's eating fine ,thank godness- and now I just cant help giving her the things she likes more when she begs: I have the terrible fear someday I could not do it anymore.Just the ones suitable for cats, of course
Mornings are cold now here, so I'm trying to keep her inside till sun appears , and she gladly would accept IF she could be just with me or messing around, not closed with kids. She begged many times for going outside, I allowed, she went and came back in minutes
I cant sleep in peace with her scratches and I cant sleep in peace with her in the cold outside...Well,well.
Not sure if you read the reply I've got from Dra Aleda here at MH she had mentioned Neurological stuff as well.Dr Fabiano said we have to wait til winter time is gone to see how the things will be.
Anyway, a tomography for her , if there was any for cats here- would be something absolutely impossible to pay for.
Thank you for keep listening and supporting us,the only think almost as useful as money is the support we get from friends
Btw, when girl was bad ,in my lap I wondered "Good times when my biggest trouble was only kids recurring worms"
Well, at night Lolo was better - and I saw 2 of then in Joy's poo
Time for stuffing pills again...
Kisses!
o my gosh Apple you and Lolo are sure having troubles.....and its so darn frustrating when you can't find out WHY....I've read over about toxoplasmosis and one of the symptoms is fever....high, not low temp..so I don't think this Vet is right.
this is very frustrating, I can't find any logical reason for hypothermia anywhere.
this is the site for reading on toxoplasmosis, also read the website on the bottom of that article(highlighted in blue from Cornell University)
I wish you all the luck in the world hon, and poor Lolo.....please keep her inside and warm I don't know what else to suggest...wish I did.((((♥)))))

Loreena had another episode Sunday morning - I met her again under the furniture... :-( about 7PM
Not a penny in my pocket but I took her to vet once more...It was cold outside,by the moment we arrived there she was 33 C!
Vet Thiago was quite nice and even gave her a shot for free (I!ve forgot to ask of what was it)
All he could do except keep her there warmed was send her home with the instructions for me to do the same - so we did it!
Home and wrapped in her cover with some gloves full of warmed water, about 10 PM she started refusing be in the basket and drank some water. All day long just lying and claiming a lot everytime I tried touch her belly for check temperature since she didnt allow me to use termometer ( this time I had no even tried home previously to the vet- there she does as an angel...)
So the day passed ,she just ate some chicken , as usual,Everytime she went outside was a hell to bring her back, she wanted lie in the worse places and refused energicaly enter again
Got some scratches this time - not bites cos she really loves me.
Call vet 3 times to keep him informed($$$)
Just at night, after she pooed ( not much, normal one)and God-knows why she start accepting better my touches I could measure temp so - so : its was about 38 C but probably would reach normal level if I had had time enough for)
Today she seems to be fine, accepted dry food but Im keeping her inside cos its a cold and rainy day.Not very playful yet but for sure not hipotermic
Talked with vet Fabiano today, he is now wondering about neurological stuff - just because theres no other idea ,Just told me to keep her sleep place floor all covered for avoiding her sleeping in a cold one
As you know they all have beds and theres also a basket and a cardboard box there, but I guess Loreena goes under the furniture to avoid kids presence when is not feeling ok.
Another vet in another place talks about toxoplasmosis - but I dont think it makes much sense. He didnt see her , I just asked about
I know how you feel Apple, my Tweety was sick a couple of weeks back turns out it was hairballs and we sorted that out with help from the great gals here, also got her de wormed.I hate it when she isn't well, I worry like you do ..I am so glad your Loreena is okay .
I am happy and relieved to hear Loreena is acting and feeling better. When Jade was unexpectedly and oddly sick for those few days several months ago, her urinalysis was suspicious with some high numbers even though xray didn't show any crystals. When we had her teeth cleaned a few wks ago, vet wanted to retest her just to make sure and urinalysis results were fabulous! When kitty doesn't eat or drink like they normally do, it will throw the numbers off and worry us when there's not necessarily a problem. That's my take on it anyway : )
Prayers and Hugs to you and the girls from Jade and I!!
Loreena seens to be fine.Shes eating quite well - and probably disappointed with me today for not giving chicken again ...
I have to keep my" hidden thrumphs", havent I?
Got 3poos at night, two of then 100% - and Loreenas one was one of those.Lucky's one was just 95% good :-)
Blood test is quite good as well.Even bettter than the previous one - no sign of problems
I will post the whole stuff someday, if possible in a question in Ask the veterinarian forum but here followas some basic info about.Any trouble with initials means they are diferent in Portuguse -
I have no time for checking now( I forgot the medical site good for)
Leucocites 20.000 ml ( nr 5.500 to 19.500) - no infection this time! Previous one had been 24.200
UReia: 65,1mg/dl ( nr 10 to 56,0) first test( may,02)
creatinina : 2.0mg/dl ( NR 0.6 to 1,80 first test May ,02 ) Now is 1,4mg/dl ( May 26) =Normal
Alt 21,5 UI/L ( NR 6,0 TO 83,0 ) I dont now yet what is this but is ok (May 26)
alcaline fosfatase: 40,9 U/L (nr 10 to 80) =ok
Guess I had read something at the test request paper asking for TGO ( a test for hepatic stuff,) but no exam mentioning that cames except if is the one I dont know about.Or its just me going crazy-evem more
Sumarizing - girl is fine and we better keep thanking and praying for since no one have a clue about :-)
Good luck with Sami issues
oh thats interesting I always thought temp would normally rise with an infection...but the Vets would know much more than I..
yes urea and creatinine are a bit high, see if the new tests show if its again increased....that would mean some kidney problems as you know...and could well give her the symptoms you mention.
Sami, has had a drastic loss of his facial pigment....see my photo album for before and afters. his tests show a very low thyroid indicating hypOthyroid disease, but my Vet says this is so very rare in cats and refuses to believe thats his problem so he's been tested for almost everything and everything else is normal, so we just wait and see, at least he's eating better the past week, still not as good as I would like but an improvement none the less..
lets hope Lorena continues to improve as well.....always prayers!! and love♥
Temp was just a little better second time I tooks her 35 something and we had some troubles in picking blood but its all gone - I do hope so!
Last time was a Complete haemogram - red , white cells counting,( eritrogram ,leucogram and platels)
They show some signs of infection, so she was treated for.
On contrary of our deepest convictions- I always believed so, and as Biology graduated I know I little bit about - they say not every infection cause temperature to get high.
guess I already asked that to 3 or 4 vets and tha last one its no way linked with that clinic or involved in the situation
Plus ureia and creatinina- those were a little bit abnormal but vet said it was nothing something to worry about
Ureia 65,1 mg/dl (nr 10 to 56)
creatinine 2,0 (nr 0.6 to 1,8)
I had promised post those results last time, but the ones send by e-mail never arrived, just the printed copy so I got lazy of.
I will try post both now as soon as I got the new ones
Thanks for the prayers.Always..
Whats Sami problem ? I mean , does he feel or acts weird?
sorry if you ever told me my memory is now a s...
oh Apple I am so sorry for yours and Lolo's troubles, its so very scary and frustrating when we don't know whats wrong and it costs so much to get answers...I've been in the same position with my Sami...hundreds of $$ in tests and still no answers, but he too is eating and I am just 'watching'
Honey, a temp of 35C is low, so there shouldn't be any infection going on....she shouldn't need antibiotics.
But something isn't right that she should be going into these stages of lethargy and not eating...
I would imagine she got a full blood analysis done?
Ask specifically how her range is in the creatinine/BUN....are her kidneys working properly?
please post when you have the results....I have you both in my prayers
sending some ((((>^.^<))))
She didnt pooed ,sorry it was just pee.Twice til the moment I left home, she did ouside as well
Poo must be being 'processed' now that she started eating again
