Loreena's urinary troubles - Uptodate 11/may
At this moment,she just finished the steroids for the second time - and will be finishing the antibiotic by Thursday.
At least, she was supposed to - but vet Fabiano wants her to keep the stuff for a MONTH
He didnt like the fact vet Paulo had prescribed all equal twice ( me neither - and asked dr Marcelo one day after starting -he had said it was not good keep changing antibiotics)
But what is done is done and now DrFabiano say- go ahed!
Having a different vet everyday is a big s***!!
About the patient, well she looks fine,lovely and is not showing problems in pee.But ...
I cant know for sure while she is using meds -nor stop meds to see the results ( We did it once with bad results)

Just bought 8 pills more -for the next 15 days...Completly broken.
Hope Dr Marcelo agree with just 5 days more =20days
I would have extra pills for keeping and/or donating but we ( Lo and me) would pass a happier birthday - if the next test was ok....

Oh I see. Well with 3 docs working on her you should have clearer answers for Loreena. Why not ask to speak with Dr, Marcello , the boss, and have him re-cap everything for you so it will be easier to follow.
I know cats begin to run away from you after a series of meds. Mine hid everyday---I felt terrible, wish they kne we are only trying to help them.

Point is - thats the way clinic works ! Is not that I want a bunch of diferent opinions - I'm forced to get those cos I just cant wait a whole week for one appoinment with vet x and each vet is there once or twice a week

LOL!!! The key is to get "a" second opinion and then pick the one doctor that you feel is best for your cat.
Surely having 3 and going to all three for the same ailment will DRIVE YOU CRAZY--I mean you only have one cat and 3 doctors will never agree on the treatment meds and proceedures

So sorry to hear your Lovely Lolo is not feeling well. It is good to have second opinions from different vets. I even did this with Mia.....sometimes they get so focused on one thing they overlook another problem.
Hopefully, like Opus said, after all the antibiotics Loreena will be back to her beautiful self ,basking in the catnip.
.....and THAT is real LOVE to be WALKING Loreena back and forth to the vets. She is indeed a very special girl.

We decided for keeping the antibiotic till Monday , but since Dr Paulo counted the days wrong, possibly I will stop just next day ( 5 days more).
Tuesday he would be there and asked a new urine sample .Not sure if I will take it because she would be yet under medicine effect so I have to check first if this wont disturb lab results.
I have to ask the next day this doct will be there

He noticed ,however an eye skin a little pale - but said the tongue is perfectly ok ,pink and so.He said nothing about gums - Lolo has black parts on ...
I didnt have paid attention to the eys, but I do agree with the vet about..Hate to have to agree - one more thing for me to worry about...

Good luck tomorrow. Get as much rest as you can today. Your arms must be getting a good workout from hauling Loreena in that carrier. Once again, I admire you for doing this all on your own, and WALKING no less. At least I had a car and my husband's help when taking Jade to the vet.

The pH should be below 7 to prevent struvite crystals(which are linked to bacterial infections). I'm shocked that the pH is dropping while she's on vitamin C!
Yes, she was.Struvite (=triple phosphate) ones - but that was +++ first test and just + second one.
She is still taking C vitamin and Ph grow to 7 after using it

Was she diagnosed with urine crystals? I know you had another post, but I don't remember if you mentioned that.
In fact,she never stopped taking care of herself - the only sign something was wrong she ever presented was the not peeing as much and easily as ever...But some things were worse in her second urine test
Talk with vet Paulo today.
