hehehehehe CSH3....you're funny
i want those plans please hubby said he'll make me one
No waterslide, I don't think they would go down it if it had water in it. Now all 3 love to go out when it rains and they come in soaked to rub on me to dry off. It really ***** to be woken up at 3am by a COLD, WET furball that wants to cuddle.
No worries- I made sure all of the staples are pounded in as far as they can go. Oliver my 20 pound white half Siamese and half traveling salesman sat on the perch as I used the staple gun umm 3 inches from his paws- He helped hold the carpet down. What a nut. The nails and screws are from the bottom up or covered in carpet, so they are protected. Don't wanna hurt my babies.
Uploaded the New picture. More often than not I call it the bunk beds because there will be 2-3 of the monsters on there passed out- or climbing up the posts to smack each other. They do love to claw on it and climb. Granted they do occasionally grab at the furniture, but not near as much as they would. I moved it to my room for a couple of weeks and we ended up having to move it back to the living room to save the furniture. They went right back to it to play and claw. I did also find the disk of plans if anyone is interested.
Guys thanks so much...Dali def. coupons as seeing i'm not creative LOL
Luff hasnt knocked the ater down today but he will...i know it lol
Heh heh...I still say I have the ULTIMATE water dish that can't be tipped. I brought a large fixture from a chandelier that is SO heavy it can't be budged!!! :)
Building a cat tree is a great way to go. You can design it to fit everyone's needs!
Just one comment; be careful of staples/nails; they can cause accidents that lead to claws being ripped out. Make sure they aren't readily accessible. Also, be sure the glue is something non toxic if there's any chance of kitty noming on parts of the tree.
Aligator79, did you by chance build a water slide into your cat tree? I'm hoping someday someone will do that; I'd love to see the cats at play on that. ;)
I built one with a "high house" on it...and then had to take it down when a mother cat gave birth in it and refused to vacate the premises. We kept having nightmare visions of kittens rolling out the door and falling six feet to the floor. *shudder*
That cat tree rocks!!! and you spent less than half of what I did. That is awesome, and I thought I had saved money by getting my cat tree on special lol. $30? Oh gosh...I want to go back in time now I want my money lol
Oh Yeah- I think I have a disc of patterns for cat trees- I will have to check when I get home.
If you are even remotely handy, build a cat tree. I built one for my 3 cats and have expanded and changed it a couple of times because I had to replace the carpet. I used plywood and 4x4's that were left over at the lumber yard and carpet I got free from a carpet store. Ask tehm if they have any random scraps that they can't use or if they would keep some for you. The place I went had a couple of pieces that were too small to sell, but too big to toss- yea for me! I used a couple of good screws and a staple gun. I spent maybe $25-$30 My babies even helped me build it. I added a picture of it and will get a better one tonight and post it. They love it and fight over who gets to be on which perch.
You never know with cats. It's like with the claws. They scratch the furniture, you get them a scratching post, they scratch the post, and then they go back to scracth the furniture. sigh..
Don't spend too much money on cat trees. Get them online if possible. Pet stores are like blood sucking parasites when it comes to selling products. Your felines may not show that much interest in the cloth when they get a cat tree. They like to climb after all, so a cat tree would actually be a good idea to exercise and play.
As to your water boy...since you've tried just about everything, can you try one of those automatic water suppliers? They're expensive, but he would not be able to flip that thing over. Or you can get a saw, open a hole on the floor, stick the water bowl in there so he can't move it lol sorry I'm not helping. But seriously, have you tried getting rid of his water bowl and instead get him something he can't tip over? I have Petco coupons. I can give you some to save you some money. :)
Ugh...you may have to just give up on table cloths. :) I have found it almost impossible to win a battle of wills with a cat. And you're talking to someone who's redesigned the doors of his closets in an effort to keep them out! (a half victory. Now they irritate us to no end clawing at the doors trying to get them open...which they can't).
So...a cat tree could help. But they MAY still jump up on the table and pull everything down. And tip over the water dish.
Personally, you should put the toilet seat up, point to the bowl and tell the cats;
Here...tip THAT over!!!
...hopefully they won't figure out a way to do it. :)
