Lump on my cats back

My cat has a huge lump on her back.  It is where she had a bite/scratch (dont know which).  We noticed the mark last Wednesday because she would meow a bad meow when we pet her there.  She has fleas if that is relevent.  And she had gotten outside the same night we found the mark.  So we dont know if it is from the fleas, herself, or another animal.  I just need to know what is wrong with her and why there is a huge lump right along her spine.

well I'm glad you have decided to take the poor kitty to a Vet, she sure does need to have this examined....and the fleas need to be treated too.
If she suffered a scratch or a bite this could have become infected and formed a huge abscess, if that is the case she will need antibiotics and very quickly!
But only an examination will tell......if she becomes any worse today I would take her to an emergency Vet clinic and not wait until tomorrow, even infections can become very serious.
Please let us know how Crystal makes out. good luck.

I been looking all over the internet for an answer.  The lump is hard. I am going to call and make a veterinary appointment tomorrow but I cant sleep.  I've had her since she was 8 weeks old.  Can someone please tell me what it might be??

Her name is Crystal, she's 10.  The whole next day she didn't eat, drink, or walk around.  She's acting fine now but the lump is big and something has to be wrong.
