Maple...

Well hello everyone. Long time no see...
As an update on myself. I have a job now :D I now work for Bad *** Coffee :D
Cool huh?

Thats all thats new i guess lol

Maple...
Is a scavanger
I've told you guys mostly you dali how much she angers me but..lately she acts so feral. The other day she bit me a million times after a treat she had already eaten...even after i washed my hands D:
And she knocks down the treats from top of the fridge and ate all the cat and dog ones. eats dog food claws me and richard up for no reason beats on sage and terrorizes luffy. But when shes calm shes an angel. When i feed them or get near their food she freaks and acts as if i've never fed her...ever. Is there any way i can get her to calm down and not be so aggresive or is this her personality?

I had an aggressive foster cat once...  I’d pick him up and he'd growl, whine and swipe my face.  You couldn't really pet him or he'd snort and whine.  By whine I mean a growling sound...

He would be into anything that was remotely food.  The foster agency claimed the cat was only a couple years old and out on the streets a short time…  I sometimes wonder if he may not have been older and been on the streets longer.  A lot of his behavior seemed to suggest he had to fend for himself a lot.  He also had a distrust of people.  It was evident by his broken tail he was abused.

I don’t know why I say this, but even so, I think we made progress from when we first had him. He did start to calm down more and tolerate being held a little longer. His outbursts were less.  Sometimes it takes patience and a bit of tough love when they get violent.  The last day we had him I remember him swiping at my hand.  I gave him a feather and he swatted at it. In retrospect I wish I would have tried to substitute toys more when he got aggressive.

Hopefully your cat will calm down too, but it may take some persistence.  One tactic I use if one of the cats bites me is to firmly hold its face or ear for a period of time and then let go. Sometimes I may say "No!" firmly. Sometimes I will give a light pinch to the ear with the soft part of my fingers, let go, and then leave the cat alone.

Of course the majority is women. I love Sparta's channel, but I don't think Cory is cute :) I do, however, like Sparta lol. Cats are so funny they steal the show and make it their own. He is making a lot of money off of his cat, so he'd better thank Sparta every day of his life for making him so famous and, well.....almost rich.

I think  what he is doing impacts the crowd in a very constructive mode because it makes people LOVE cats, and you do know there are hundreds of cat haters out there. So, he is sending a good message in a fun way. I give him that! I would like to see more videos of Sparta and Loki, so that people get to know cats a little better as these magnificent creatures are often misunderstood and compared to dogs on a daily basis. No matter how many times I tell my co-workers and friends about how different the species are, they always go back to the same comparison: dogs are pack animals and like to do activities with you….. and cats are loners and grumpy.

So, I believe Cory is sending a good message and I think he is making easy money, but it's honest and has a good purpose: Entertain people...get them to know/like/love cats....get them to adopt cats from the shelters, and help the community by setting humane traps to get the strays in a program where neutering/spaying is the goal ;)

Heh heh...yes, he is.

I don't suppose it has anything to do with the  tall, cute, handsome looking bachelor who obviously adores his cat that my wife keeps going on about?  I'm willing to bet at least 3/4 of those hits are woman. ;->

Her behavior could have been changed by your new pets. Cats hate changes, hun, and for you to introduce a dog or two to her, just like that, is a bit drastic and uncomfortable to her. Did you get her spayed yet? She will calm down when she gets fixed and grows older. She may be playing, but then you said that she now behaves differently. How old is she now? It may be the dogs, hun. Any environmental change will trigger aggression. You can ask ZQ. When she brought Mo-Mo, Skunk acted like a complete lunatic, and she (Skunkie) wasn't happy, and she (Skunkie) was in distress. That's what happens sometimes when you have a cat who has claimed posetion of the entire place and what's in it.

Discourage this behavior. If she gets aggressive all of a sudden, spray her with water. This is definitely not an acceptable behavior. If she only wants to play then encourage her to play with toys, not your hands. Just say NO, when she targets your hands. I almost want to believe little  Maple is just playing, but she lacks boundaries and YOU have to set those for her.

As for the treats...well, you have a cat with great appetite and uncontrollable energy. She may be eating the treats to get attention, because she is hungry, or just because she is bored. Hide the treats or put them in a place where she can't get them. How's that?

It's great to hear from you again, girly!!!  I've been wondering where in the world you've been!  Congratulations on your new job-was the name Bad A$$ coffee?  Was that what was starred out?  Do ya like it better than Starbucks?

I think that Maple will calm down once she gets a little older-she's still a wild baby!  Just give her some time!  A lot of us recommend using a spray bottle of water when she gets obnoxious.  Or you can try a jar or can filled with some coins to shake-the loud noise will distract and scare her!
