Something similar happened to our kitten this morning. He was trying to climb the radiator, which has some thin grooves in it and his toe got stuck in one of the grooves. He was trying as hard as he could to pull it out directly, and by the time I had wrapped him up in a towel and slid the toe along (slowly!) to the end of the groove to free him, the toenail was pointing the opposite direction, and the paw looked all mangled and almost like that toe had split into two. He let me touch it a little but he was limping badly, so we took him to the vet. By the time we had gotten there, it actually looked like it had put itself right again, but the vet gave us a cone (apparently if they lick it it can get worse) and a follow-up appointment in a few days. Its about 5 hours later now and he's still limping a little, his paw is swollen to about twice the size of his other one but he's still trying to jump onto chairs etc so I guess he's not in too much pain. Just wanted to share our version of events.

Limping has become worse. She is normally a very greedy eater. And loves milk & meat. I gave her a bowl of milk and a peice of meat, cut into peices. I've had to usher her out side and .. Well. She hates thunder and I made her go outside -- WHEN A STORM WAS BREWING. Now, it's night for me. About 10-ish. I haven't seen her in the past 5 mins. My dad told me to shut up and go to bed. She didn't even drink half the milk, or eat any of the meat. I'm afraid she's still on the grass, lying there, in the cold.

Hi CatCare,

I agree with what opus88 is saying. Your kitty needs to be seen as soon
as possible by a vet. The injury is bad enough now, but if the injury gets
infected, the cost of getting kitty well will increase. Your kitty is in pain.
Tell your mom that it's really important to get your kitty to a vet as
quickly as possible. I'm pretty sure it won't be that expensive to have
this taken care of. Your kitty is counting on you to talk on her behalf
to get her the medical help she needs. Good luck. Eve ( mother of Sammy
the cat )

please keep trying to talk your mom into getting this kitty to a Vet, this claw needs to be removed, it must have gotten caught on something and it will continue to catch on everything....must be quite painful.
