My cat is vomiting

My cat has vomited for the second time this week. He is clearly retching and heaving before he vomits, and his vomit was a small amount of brown/dark green liquid mush. There was no blood or objects. I have already done a little research on the possible causes, but I cannot seem to pinpoint what is actually causing my cat to vomit. I will be taking him to the vet soon, but I would like an idea of what is going on beforehand.  Thank you for any help!

Hi. Have you recently changed food or tried new treats? This has caused vomiting in my cats.

It sounds like it is based lower in his stomach, in other words not a hairball because he would be more likely to throw up undigested food if so.  Your kitty sounds like he is vomiting after he has digested everything.  Sorry, no ideas, but it does sound worth the vet consult.

Have you noticed what he's doing before he vomits? My previous cat had a big problem with eating too fast as well as things she shouldn't be eating. Try to encourage your cat to drink a little more. He may just have an upset stomach. Hope you get to the bottom of it
