Nerve damage

Nerve damage

My cat was spayed May 1 this year. When we brought her home she could not put any weight on her rear leg, I called the vet and took her back to see him for various shots. Nothing he did helped. I have taken her to another Vet he gave her more medicine and suggested amputation of the leg because of nerve damage . The first Vet while giving her shoth hit the main nerve. I do not want my cat to suffer can any one please tell me what else I can do to help her? I feel the Vet should have to pay are there Lawyers that will handle animinal cases?

By law, animals are technically considered property (*****, I know). So the best you can do is sue for the cost of the vet service where the vet made the mistake, as well as any additional relative treatment.

You will likely have to do the treatment first and then present the bills in court. Likely, it will be small claims, which is much easier to deal with (no lawyers, minimal filing fees).

Disabled animals can live long, happy healthy lives. I'm sorry this happened, but if the amputation must be done, you can know that it isn't the end. Animals are excellent at adjusting to new circumstances.
