I just checked in on your story, had a kitty named Tiger when I was a pre-teen, too, as did my wife when she was a kid.
Good on you for caring for the little guy.
Thank You that means alot to me! I knew there were people out there that felt the same as me.
congrats to you and you're big heart.....you will be rewarded many times over with love. my best to the little Tiger may he keep up the good fight♥
Thank You for your help. I am sorry I didn't respond sooner. I also want to Thank FurballsMom. I was already carring for one orphan when this little fellow came to me. He heard me on the carport where my utility room is. I was so overwelmed. I called a vets office and I guess they thought he was at the point of no return and offered to put him down. That upset me greatly! I took care of him myself. I took a fine comb and I just kept combing out the blow fly eggs. He didn't have any sores on him. I think he was to week to fight the flies! So the flies had them a warm wet kitten as a host! At first had him on formula. Then switched to moistened sciencediet for kittens. The kittens love it! Gabby I saved her when she was 2 weeks old. I named this little guy Tiger, cause of his facial markings and his will to live! He is a fighter!
You clearly had the right idea of what to do, since you have the kitten surviving long enough to take her to the vet. Thankfully, the vet has the right kind of facility to clean her up better and to do everything necessary to hopefully provide enough support so that the little kitten will survive. As you must be aware, if a mother cat has abandoned just the one kitten, her instincts are telling her that something is wrong with the baby. I've seen a mother cat deliberately smother a newborn out of a whole litter, because her instincts were telling her that that one baby isn't going to survive. She is doing this for the survival of all of her other kittens. But, one can hope that the kitten is old enough and strong enough that the vet's office can help the baby survive.
Hi dear, hope the little fella is not suffering anymore
Did you take him to the vet already?
I wish I had great idea to give you, but the only one I had just now is about warning hi,m - you can use a hot water bag or a pet bottle filled with hot water ( take care in invoving those in towels for not to burn the kitten)
I'm contacting Opus by pm - for sure she could help you more and didnt see your post til now.
Please keep in contact, hoping you both the best
This is an update. I managed to get 2 tablespoons of replacement formula into kitten. It is a longer haired kitten. It is starving. I don't think it's private part is swollen. I think it's because it's so skinny and has the longer hair. I am going to call vets office Monday to see what they can do.
