Red almost bloody inside upper eyelids and red anus

My 12 year old male cat was constantly licking his paws and when I looked the flesh around the base of the claw was red and looked bloody and was obviously tender when I was handling his paws. I dug out what I thought was cat litter but could have been a scab. He has this on several toes now on both front paws. He isn't limping but they are still painful for him when I touch them and try to examine them. That was the first symptom (I assume the three things are related. I then noticed that he had developed red almost bloody looking on his top inside eyelid. I thought it was just a scratch from playing with my other cat, and found what I thought was a scab in the fur next to the outer corner of his eye but now I think it was secretions that had hardened. The fur around his eyes is black so hard to tell. I wasn't concerned until it didn't go away, its been there a week and now I'm seeing the same bloody looking redness on his other eye and also now his anus is very very red. He seems a little grumpy at times but eating and drinking but no other symptoms that I've spotted. Help! I'm disabled and on social security.

I agree about the Care Credit thing.  I have care credit. I applied for a $2,000 limit while at the vets office because she needed to spend the night there for fatty liver disease and it was approved on the spot, and my credit isn't even that great. When my cat ended up needing to stay a couple extra days I realized $2,000 want going to be enough and after 1 quick phone call to their customer service they upped my limit to $3,000. I have no interest if paid in full by 6 months. So it's definitely worth a shot. The good thing is you can use the care credit for yourself too.

Hi Nic,

Totally agree with Opus. CareCredit is great. No finance charges if you pay the arranged amount each month. I used it for $3,500 when I needed my kits teeth removed.  Just paid out over 2 years.

Good Luck , Nick and let us know how it goes, K?

well bless you for trying your best to help this kitty despite having your own issues and low finances
Unfortunately, until we have a diagnosis and know whats going on theres no way anyone on here or any other website can help...it has to be seen and possibly cultured to know whats causing this, and it sounds like its spreading and becoming quite worse.
I hope you can find a Vet Clinic that will do an exam on a repayment plan for you or you can try this link below for a credit card towards pet care for those that are unable to pay upfront.
I don't really know much abt this but I would imagine their finance charges could be quite high, hopefully could be spread out over a long period??
this kitty somehow does need to see a Vet, wishing you both luck, after you know what is going on than perhaps we can help with some suggestions but not until:(
