Second Opinion- Xray

Hello,

4 days ago, we took our kitten to the vet because he had been limping and not using his right limb. 500 dollars later the vet could not conclusively give us a cause other than a guess at tissue damage to the paw. A week has gone by and the cat still refuses to use the limb and our vet wants to keep charging us more and more money and passing our xray to every doctor to look at in the office. We are concerned and frustrated and want another diagnosis as to what it could be. I have attached a few x-ray photos, is there a doctor willing to give us a serious opinion?

You said that you attached "xrays"...are there more than one posted and I just don't know how to advance to the next photo or did you only attach one? Also, were there more views taken? You can't evaluate the joint in this view and I would hope there was imaging of the stifle (knee) as well..thanks!

If the vet is passing the X-rays around and then charging you more for the others' opinions, I would change vets.  That seems pretty egregious.

I would suspect a luxating patella (feel kitty's kneecap on that side and see if it moves around) or a torn or tender muscle, if there is nothing noticeable on an X-ray.  They don't photograph muscles well.

hi Whitney, sorry to hear you are getting hit by so many charges and not finding any answers...
unfortunately on this free open forum we are just pet owners as yourself we are not Vets...
I will give you a link to our MH Veterinarian if you wish to get her perspective on this condition although it will cost you $20.
I wish you and this poor kitten some good luck...
