yes they can my cat babygirl died last aug./07 of a seizure it was her second one she was only a year and ahalf old her first one my husband brought her back to life then 2 months later she died during the night. so i would  go to the vet to see how serious it is . we miss babygirl very much she would play fetch just like a dog. she was very loving. goodluck

Not necessarily, it is a brief loss of consciousness. Although this is something that you should monitor, because chances are there is a serious underline cause. My dog had seizures a while back. We took her to the vet and they confirmed that she had an enlarged heart, and sadly died shortly afterwards. So I would keep an eye on your cat.
