Stomach Polyps

Stomach Polyps

My 9 year old male cat was recently vomiting and defacating small amounts of blood.  We were told to give him Pepsid, which we did.  He received a ultrasound which showed an abnormal thickening of the stomach and slightly enlarged lymph nodes.  We then took him for a endoscopy about 2 days ago.  This showed several stomach polyps.  Right now we are awaiting results of biopsy to determine if they are cancerous.  Fortunately he is not vomiting or defacating blood right now and he is quite lively.  You would not know to look at him that he has   There is not much data on the web for feline stomach polyps, so I was wondering if others have had similiar problems and what options were offered for treatment.

I'm not sure about older (surgical) treatments but they've been recently using human tools (endoscopy) to remove polyps by freezing the growths. Hopefully this is the treatment kitty will get if required. I understand it's fairly non invasive with a decent recovery time. I recall a medical journal article I read that they'd been doing recent work on this back in September. Ask your vet about it, it sounds like a good way to go.
