Today is a double anniversary.
The most important, Miss Teia Honey has been a member of the family for 7 years.
When she first came to us, Teia was a fearful former feral who behaved very much like a hermit in our home. She hide, ate only dry kibble and would only emerge at night. She did not much like people and hated other cats.
Right now, she is asleep on her blue blankie at the end of the couch. Teia hides only if there are other people in the house. She loves wet food, especially fish flavors (even likes a little bit of baked chicken and cornbread now and then). She is out and about all hours of the day and usually sleeps at night. She is not really a snuggle bug, but does like lap time and once a week or so will come to bed after we're asleep and I'll awake with her laying atop me. She has decided Cooper and Buff are tolerable company, so long as there's no touching.
The other anniversary, I am now 1 year out from the Whipple procedure for pancreatic cancer that has extended my life (along with the chemo). I feel relatively well and with the medical results I've been getting, have hope for at least several more years to come.
