Teia and the girls...

Well, we are slowly unpacking the house and will have it ready for the girls in another week or so.

Not really knowing Miss Teia's back story of the 10 1/2 years before she joined our family, I have to think she had some rough patches.  She seems to be showing her age a bit, peeing just outside the entrance to the litter box.  I think she stands in the box with her hind end overhanging the lip.  However, we started putting puppy pads down and she uses those just fine.

Hildie continues to do well on the insulin.

Chessie has finally discovered that she really, really likes to get brushed.

Both Anita and I also had the thought today that Missy T is suffering separation anxiety as we are spending much more time out of the apartment working to get the house ready.

LOL-Chessie! That's so cute! We have the same issue with Beener. He pees just outside the box and sometimes its because his big arse is hanging over it! We also use the puppy pads. Beener will sometimes poop on the puppy pad and then crumple it up.

I am glad you are getting settled in the new home! Cant wait to see pics of the girls in their new environment

(((hugs)))

well good luck to Teia on the dental....its always a worry when they need to go under...I'm such a mother hen, its ME who doesn't sleep all night and who walks the floor until I get the call that all is well :)

Pip the Vet may not have luck expressing the bladder before surgery since fluids are withheld overnight they are usually abit dehydrated by surgery time...but its worth a try. hope the extra boxes help :))

Teia will need to go in for some dental work, will see if the vet can express her bladder at that time to check the urine.

I like the idea of supersizing using the totes, too.

...will also continue using the "puppy pads."

I also think it may be that Teia is no longer tolerant of Hildie using the same box to pee.

Once we have the new house set up, Anita and I have decided to have 2 boxes for each kitty, plus 1...hoping this solves the "territorial" issue.

so glad you are getting settled in Pip.....it will take the girls a few days but they will soon feel at home and love it I'm sure.

ali made a good suggestion abt a larger litter box....

but it could be more an issue with not holding her urine long enough to get to the box.... OR even though her diet is mostly canned food now,  she had been on dry food for many years, so sure wouldn't hurt to get an urinalysis done to rule out crystals or cystitis...

best to you all♥

Have you tried using a BIG rubbermaid container with the side cut out?  I'm thinking of those giant things that are somewhere like 20x48 with sides around 12 inches.  :)
