Very confused...

Hi,

my sad story is this: I live in Israel in a Vila, and my 3 cats go in and out trough the window as they like. about 6 weeks ago we went abroad for a week, and had a friend stay in our house in order to take care of the cats. 2 nights before our flight we discovered that Lola, our mixed blue Russian cat had broken her left upper tooth and injured herself (she had an abscess in her back). we were ordered to give her antibiotics twice a day for 10 days. since we knew that there is no chance in hell that she will let the friend that came to stay at our house to give her the drugs, we decided to take her to our trusted best friends that live in an apartment 30 kilometers away. when we came home a week later we discovered that Lola had run away from their house after only 36 hours and that she only got her antibiotics for 2 days

We have been looking for her every day, in every way possible ever since, we notified all the animal organisations, we hang signs all over their town, we notified all the vets, and we walk in their town every night looking for her. we even hired a sniffer dog but he didn't catch her smell.

last week i got a phone call from the vet services of a town near by their town, about 6 kilometers away from the town she was lost in. the cat they found has the exact same face as my Lola, the exact same broken tooth and the exact same old one lonely stitch that was left from when she was Sterilize. the only difference is that her fur is longer and that she has a bit of a white fur in the area she was shaved in order to check if she was Sterilized. I took her home and she seems to feel like she is at home, she wasn't scared even one bit and did not try to hide at all' as if she knows the house. It's a very strange coincidence.

Is it possible that her fur had became longer due to the temperature outside at night? is it possible that the small white area near the shaved fur in her belly got white due to the shaving process in that area?

thanks

And now you have an almost matched set of cats, an equally fun benefit.

It is good to know a price for "finding" your cat. Maybe he needed the money more than your cat--thank God!!!  Yeah! everybody is happy, you are very lucky, poor thing must have missed home so much.

Thanks! I have found her after exactly two mounths, about 1.2 kilometers from where she was lost. I found her thanks to sugesting a reward of 300 dollars for any information on her whereabouts. Some guy who wanted the money decided to look for her and found her!

well thats both good news and bad...bad that this isn't your dear Lola, lets pray she is safe out there somewhere and you will still locate her.
the good is you've given another kitty a good loving home in Lola's absence. Natasha is a lovely name and she was obviously in need of someone and you came into her life for a reason:)
I send you my prayers, please keep us updated, good luck♥

Thanks Opus88 and AnnieBrooke.

We now know for sure that our new cat isn't Lola, so her new name is Natasha. we think due to her fur, that she is a Nebelung cat, and we think that she had been abandoned, since no one is looking for her and we are the only family looking for their blue Russian/nebelung cat in that area.

Even though it's been 7 weeks since our Lola disappeared, we are still looking for her in every possible way there is, hopefully we will find her.

ps -- You might just never have noticed before that she had a bit of white fur on her tummy.  It could have been hidden by the longer hairs.

Take the cat you have to the vet and see if they can find the place where the abscess was.

I really hope it is my Lola, and the nights were very cold indeed, but i can not be sure, and if it isn't, i have to keep looking for her, even though i have a new kitty to give my love to.

I just feel so terrible that i trusted them with her, i thought i was doing what is best for her, but it ended up being the worse for her, i feel like it is my fault. i don't even know if she is alive or dead. i lost 5 kilograms in a month and a half cos i cant eat well, i cant sleep well, knowing she is out there, cant stop crying...

hi that is a sad story indeed....and I can see why you are confused. given all the same coincidences such as the same broken tooth, same face, sterilized which wouldn't be common if she were a feral, and the fact she isn't afraid and seems to know the house and you...than I would like to think this is indeed Lola.
yes it is very possible the shaved area to become whiter....the fur could have grown IF she were outside and the temperature was cooler...
really hard to say isn't it....but in any case you have yourself a kitty who desperately needs a good home, I hope its Lola for her sake.♥♥
