Hi Glenn, wondering how your cat is doing and hoping you got her to the vet.  She sounds very ill.  Every single thing you describe your kitty doing sounds like my BIL's cat who had pneumonia.  Medical intervention is a must!

Please give us an update when you can.

Do you think there is any way they have injested something, like through their nose or mouth. Are they both outside cats and are they around other cats?

It could be clymidia which can progress very rapidly, especially in younger cats. I would take her to the vet ASAP.
