I have 4 babies, all black. The male is Maynard. Then there's Amy Lee, Monkey (We have had her since she was a teeny tiny baby and she was bald and looked like a little monkey baby.) and Tinkerbell (She is very petite and has an elfin quality. She is also the orneriest of the bunch!) CRseaside, that is too funny that you also have a Monkey!

There was the most darling kitten here.
My guys built cages 4'x4 1/2  ' . They are Huge. One of the only animals who can get pregnant while nursing is a cat.
   So the Foundation brings me the tiny kits, while Mom goes in for Surgery.
Then I care for Mom post op too. We had the cages built so other moms wouldn't tear stitches at night.
    So this little Calico, mainly dark brown used to climb the bars & swing like a monkey. During the day, he was fond of standing on his hind legs. So we named him Monkey Man. So cute!

Now: Black kitten with white spot on chest: Little Bear ( off of the kids show of same name, cause 4 y/o says he looks like him)
        His brother, a gray kitten: Greyson. 4 y/o named him too.
        Fat, lazy, orange cat: Rambo...18 y/o named him...ironic, because he's very gentle and not a fighter, but a good mouser.
        Adopted adult cat#1: Jericho, because some day his walls will fall and he'll love everyone. ( siamese/burmese cross )
       AAC #2:   Eli...Egyptian Mau. Mean as anything. Fighter. Weird. lol

Then:  Joker Wallace. Freak of nature. Had 1 more extra toe than Guinness Book of World Records cat. Too bad he was put to sleep due to cancer, or he could have been #1
We were going to name him Green Nosed Weep...after a book the kids had read...because he looked just like it.

Tommy, Willie, Puma, Kiki, Mitzi, Furfy, Harold, and many others that aren't funny names at all.lol

Rusty Pelican.
There were a litter of kits & a momma under the Restaurant. Someone had put some dry food in a pie plate out there. No matter how hard he tried the little runt kept getting his little butt kicked. The others weren't going to let him have any food.
      These were totally wild cats. I had just quit smoking, & had a Jolly Rancher candy in my pocket. I got down on my stomach & was crawling twords this starving kitten. He finally got close enough & I got him & put him in my jacket pocket ( so I could keep from getting scratched & bit.
       I look up, & the diners that have a Harbor view can see me wriggling on my belly, but not the kitten. They must have thought I was nuts.
       We walked to a supermarket & my friend came out with kitten chow & yogurt. He put some of each in the palm of my hand & kitten made these low growling sounds & practically ate my hand.
      I taught Rusty Pelican lots of tricks. He was one cool cat! Pamela

I just named a kitten Samson because he was brave and strong but will melt like butter for the ones he loves.  I named his sister Delilah but I just call her Lilah.

A Bon Chat. Sounds like   a boo shaa .

I thought I posted, one of my favorite cats & cat name was Slick.
When he was tiny ( we had his mom. So we had him from a newborn like a lot of you have raised yours too. )
Anyhow. When tiny we called him " ITTLE Slick. His tummy got run over by a neighbor. They took him to a vet, without checking with us & we had to pay $1000.00 to get ITTLE Slick out of vet hospital. We were both in College & had part time jobs. To give you an idea of money, our rent was $125 pr month & I bought my car for $625. These neighbors said they'd pay us back, but never paid us a dime.      So ITTLE Slick had to have chicken livers made into a gravy recipe that I cooked or he would throw up for the rest of his life due to stomach problems. He was so cool though. A great gopher stalker. Once saw him wait all day in the front yard by a hole. He got his target too.

I got my first cat and named her Luna, she had kittens and we named 3 of them. One was called coffee bean which has gone to her new home and been called coco, we had Lilly which we found out to be a boy and he's now named Harley, I have kept a kitten I named Sylvester which turns out to be a girl and have now named her Lola. So I have Luna and Lola.

My first cat ever was Loreena Mc Cat - named after Loreena Mc Kennit.She came from nowhere and adopted me,as almost everybody here already know.
Previously to her spay procedure she got pregnant and my "baby" had 6 babies.4 boys and 2 girls
2 boys died - Cream and Freddie ( mercury,named after his dead)2 others were adopted ( Simon - P.Simon) and Spot _ he had a very time spot .Both were white.
Girls stay with me - Lucky - because she was supposed to be the only to stay with her mother and me - and Joy ( I had no good girl name so I decided for a name expressing good things for her

My first childhood kitty was a dilute calico kitten.  My Dad named her 'Rainbow'.  I was only 2yrs old when much to my parents dismay, my Nana 'surprised' us with her.  There is a photo of me petting her in her first bed...a shoe box.  Rainbow was an aloof kitty, and didn't care to be pet or held...except by me.  Her entire 17yrs, she would only sit in My lap.  

Second kitty was a stray tuxedo.  My 8y.o. self named her "Mitzy".  She had many litters of kittens.  Her last litter, she had a gorgeous calico my sister and I begged to keep.  We named her 'Frisky'.  She passed when I was 31.  

As an adult, my first kitty was a 4mo old kitten we rescued at the pound in 1985.  Another calico.  I named her Rainbow, also (lol).

Next was 'Abby' in 2003.  She was only a few months old when she began appearing in our yard.  Neighbors didn't want her, so we took on her care.  She passed in 2005.  

We adopted Jade in 2006.  Her previous owners named her.  We kept her name because it was so fitting.  She has been the light of my life~

teaching them how to walk( & so they wouldn't
get away) the one with the sparkly ear( had
to mark them, couldn't tell who'd been fed
otherwise. He hopped in a fire engine I had
in there,& let me push him around! Pretty
soon, the other darlings were chasing the

I adopted my girls and the previous owners named them Elly and Dophy, but one day I was looking for them as they were hiding and I called out MEWMEW MEWMEW thinking I might sound like a little kitty and they would come and check me out...Well, imagine my surprise when my Elly came running at a full trot to me and she jumped right in my lap.  She purred and fell asleep in my lap for the first time ever and I got on the phone and called the previous owners and asked them what her real name was before they named her Elly....They were puzzled, but they humored me and looked it up on their papers and her original name was Moonbeam and she was found at 6 weeks living under a boat in Florida.  

I think to my Elly/Moonbeam the sound of MewMew MewMew is the closest to hearing her original name and it has stuck.  She still comes running when I call MewMew, MewMew and it is the cutest thing .....
