adding a new kitten

Hello i have a 7yr,old female cat maned Mookie,she is a quiet a loving companion.I was contemplating getting me/her a new little friend.My concern is would this be a stress,or a welcomed addition to my current pet.Second is the sex of the next animal a factor,mookies spayed.I dont want to be selfserving and cause emotional stress to my present cat. Any feedback would be appreciated John in Toronto.

i you have the new kitten in a cat carrier (with the door lock in place) and mookie on the out side of the carrier. they may get along. if they dont, try having the kitten in a room for a day or to so the scent gets on the things in the room. then move the kitten into another room and put mookie in the room where the kitten was, and see how she reacts. if that doesnt work then just have the kitten fre roaming with mookie. they'll get over the differences. :)
