Like FurballsMom, I would also say.
Save the money!
One of my friends has one and it took a while and tons of misplaced poops, pees' and squirted water until the cat tolerated that scary noisy "monster" which is constantly using her litter box right after she finished her "business".
My friend is disabled and just was tired of arguing each time until her supporters are cleaning the litter box.
And if you don't take out the collected feces out of the container including cleaning it frequently (even if you put plas
tic bags in the collector) - it will smell like a dirty litter box within few days as well.
Even my friend already things about kicking that litter box monster out again since it was not solving her issue with the odors.
I - just as example - use cat litter on pine or corn base.
The litter box of my cats is right beside the toilet in the bathroom.
And each day I take out the poops and the clumped parts and they go right away into the toilet. Flush and everything is done.
Cat litter on pine or corn base (or the not clumping wood pellets) is also more environment friendly than the clay or silica (high scrunch sound when the cat uses the litter box) since it is just a side product of the wood/corn manufacturing industry and 100 % biodegradable.
Maybe you like to use Wikipedia on "litter box" too. It has a good explanation of all kinds of kitty litter.
Word of advice--save your money. My cat used to hiss at the one I had every time the thing would rake. And, she would slap at the mechanism. They also take up a lot more space than a standard litterbox.
all I ever heard abt it was to save your money...they were always broke down for some reason or other?
I'm wondering the same thing...I have 3 adults and 2 newbors to keep up with <3
