brother and sister kitten just spayed/neutered - how long until play is safe?

My  2 brother and sister kittens just got spayed and neutered yesterday morning, we picked them up at 5pm yesterday and they were definitely wierd with the aenesthetic still in their systems but they were being insanely hyper - they're very active normally but this was psychotic we couldn't keep them calm. We ended up having to seperate them over night to calm them down, he seems fine and hasn't bothered his incision but she seemed a little interested. She slept well overnight and so did he but after waking up they were right back into indy 500 mode. So we split them up again to calm them down but they keeo crying for each other. I'm nearly at my wits end for how to calm them down so they can recover. So far her incision and stitches look fine but she's a jumper and i'm worried if she won't calm she'll hurt herself - not to mention he's trying to play rough and we can't have that. I'm wondering how long until we can relax a little and let them get back to normal play and how can we calm them.?

hi and welcome, I would certainly recommend that you do keep them separate for 3-4 days since they are so rambunctious..rough play could open the new stitches...although I wouldn't worry too much abt the female jumping around, just try and reduce as much as possible...good luck to you and the babies :))

I just had my adult cat's teeth clean and they put him under.  When I got him home, he was so nutty, jumping on the counter,  onto the table, and back onto the counter, only to find his back legs couldn't keep up and I kept having to catch him from falling!  But he was acting crazy too and I had to confine him so he wouldn't hurt himself.  Cats just can't handle a lot of drugs, so I wouldn't be alarmed.  If they start showing neurological problems, I would definitely have them checked out.  For now, I think damage control is your best bet!  Good luck!
