cat worry

Respected Doctor,
               I had 6cat,s .Now near my house a dog  made his shelter.Even close to houses there  are dogs.Therefore my mother gave  the 3 kittens to a pet lover.The mother cat is crying for 3 days(loud sound of mau mau).Even my mother have great wish to see the kittens.IF my mother went to see the kitten,s , will it became difficult for kitten,s to forget my mother?What can I do shall I advise my mother to go to look the kitten,s..I am confused..The elder cat everyday bring,s dead bird,s for her kitten.As the cat,s kitten,s are not there in front her eye,s  ,the elder cat look,s sad energy less . The pet lover had lost my one kitten 4days back? Is there any way to find the kitten.?Please suggest me what can i do?

You shouldn't worry about your mother visiting the kittens. It only takes a few weeks  for a cat to adjust to the loss of her kittens (once the mother's milk begins to dry up).

Since the kittens are at another home, they won't smell right to the mother cat. So you don't have to worry about your mother carrying a reminder of the kittens back by smell.

In other words, you just have to give it some time. Just be loving to her and she'll adjust.

As to the lost kitten... I'd need to know how old it is. A 2 month old kitten probably couldn't survive past 4 days on its own. An older kitten (3-4 months) would have a chance. Your best bet would be to check the immediate area where the kitten got lost. Look in small spaces.

A scared cat/kitten will pick a direction and run in a straight line, running for any obvious holes/ small spaces it can hide in. If that spot doesn't work out it picks a new direction (the direction that looks the least threatening) and tries again.

Any older, and there's a good chance the cat wandered in search of food and shelter, which makes finding it very difficult. Since it was a new home, it may not know the area well enough to find it's way back.
