computer wires

I just got a new laptop and the cords it came with came with warnings about lead. I'm concerned about my very
holdcurious cats and if they get ahold of the cord when I'm not home. One is especially nosy. Any suggestions?
The warning said to immediately wash my hands after handling the cords and I want to make sure my pets are
safe.

Why don't you put the laptop where the cat can't get to it? You may also unplug the cord and hide it while you are gone, which is fine since the computer will be turned off and won't be wearing off its batteries.
