Yeah I am defiantly going to take him off dry food but I want to do it in a way that it wont stress him or anything like that... How long do you think it could take for me to get him off dry food fully??
that is nonsense I'm sorry to say......where did this Vet get his nutritional knowledge???
dry food has 10% moisture..its a dehydrated food..cans have 78% moisture, cats don't normally drink much water and even if they did it wouldn't be nearly enough to make up for the lack of moisture content.

and yes both of mine were dry food junkies before urinary tract problems and I my own Vet said it was priority to get them OFF dry food, except for a small treat of less than 1/3 cup daily....so I started researching. It took a long time for them to like the wet food, this food is so full of additives that they crave, like us with salt....but transition slowly is possible. they are much healthier for it.
but hey its your cats and your decision. but do the reading.
Turns out its not crystals again and it is a bladder infection....
When he did have the crystals the vet told me that he can have dry food that has urinary tract support... I am trying to stop him from eating dry food but he will just cry at me for most of the day for it even if there is wet food in his bowl
I am so sorry to read that Whiskey is having problems once again....has he been eating strictly wet canned foods??? and drinking lots of water?
I will post the advice you were given earlier when this happened to him. read the website that was included on urinary tract health. I'm sorry but this is all I can add...my Nemo has been free of crystals for over a year now since stopping dry food...I also mix a small amount of extra water in with his wet food b/c he doesn't drink alot....need to keep these crystals flushed out of the bladder...good luck. keep us updated..
