ear mites???

My cat has a bad case of what I think is ear mites. She scratches the ear, it gets bloody, the ear has a funny odor, it is swollen inside, and she won't let me touch it. What can I do? I have tried drops form the vet, which ony works as long as the drops were given and I also tried mineral oil, but the condition has returned.

Can you name the product the vet gave you for her ear mites? My cat had ear mites. I took him to the vet where he got vaccinations to kill not only ear mites but also other common parasites. I was given Mita Clear to put in his ears every day. What product did you get at the vet?

Tresaderm (drops that should be refrigerated)

He said to use the drops for two weeks once in the AM once in the PM

Well, if Tresaderm has not worked for you, then talk to your vet about Mita Clear. My experience with it has been great. Within the first week of treatment the ear mites were no more. I took him to the vet the following week and still clear of ear mites. The following month he got tested for ear mites. Guess what, still nothing. You can also buy Mita Clear on petmeds. They have it cheaper although this product isn't expensive at all.
