emaciated kitten

I am fostering a 6 week old emaciated kitten, now at 1.2 1/2oz.  She eats slowly and is smart, alert and responsive, but lethargic. I have had her 1 week. She eats, sleeps and acts like a lap cat. At first I saw improvements in weight, up to 1.3 3/4, but dropped and not as active now.  Vet says she has a possible heart murmer, and giving her Lactolose 0.1 to loosen bowel to stop possible prolapsed rectum...stool is now softened and bowel appears ok and I have stopped the laxative. Should I give her some Albon to help with any other possible problem?  I am worried since she does not seem like a normal buzzing around kitten. Eating Felidae wet food and Purina dry. She seems to drink lots of water too. How long is recovery for an emaciated kitten and what are their symptoms or demeaner like?  Can you shed any light on care, things to watch out for, normal weight gain, or anything?!?!

The kitten is going on 7 weeks, doesn't like lapping KMR (I foster only neo-natals and very familiar with KMR) but eats her wet food slowly but consistent.  Today she was much more perky.  I have just never had an emaciated kitten and want to know recovery time or anything that I should be doing extra.  I was thinking about Pet-tinic vitamin mineral supplement (read about it on the internet), have been adding pumpkin to her food and trying to get her to play. Can you shed any light on emaciated kittens and their needs?

There's a product called KMR Milk Replacer that is crucial to kittens that young you're fostering. It's packed with nutrients. We use it for sick adult cats as well who have dropped a lot of weight. I've never met a cat who doesn't like the taste too.

As to the albon...I'd check with the vet on that. With a sick kitten, it's best to make sure you aren't doing contradictory to his treatment regime.
