my cat has 4 thick and hard hairy  something growing on her back i tried cutting some off but the one i cut came back my cat is very fussy when it comes to brushing she snarls and uses her claws what can i do is my cat very sick.

Can you tell if these are mats of fur or something on the skin? If they're mats, they have to be cut out as they can be very painful to the cat. If you're having difficulty, you may want to have a groomer do it.
