I read the comments on the link you posted.   I have also talked to a few of the Vets here where I live.

They have stated that if not all of the testical is removed, they can grow back.

You also need to remember that I said that this is rare.   They concured.  It is unusual, but it can happen.   It is not just the physical appearance.

Whiskey, do what you want to do. It isn't up to me or anyone else how you do this.  I just hope the spraying doesn' start in the next few months.

Kaydey, that link that I gave you were answered by 2 real DVMs and a vet tech.  You can't get any more reliable than that.

That is a MH link...no thanks.

Zodiac, it is time for you to just drop it.  I stated what I know, not only from reading what is not on the internet (and there aren't very many vet journals that publish on the internet unless you to go JStore or other sites like it) but also what I have experienced.

Testicals DO grow back.  Just like Tonsils or Adnoids will grow back if all the tissue is not removed.

I have not had anyone message me that they are NOT happy with my attituded.  If anyone is not happy with my attitude (besides you) , please send me a message...  I really do want to know - sincerely- I want to know.

You have to realize, too, that there ARE reliable sources on the internet.  Grant it, there are some BS sites out there-can't argue about that!  It's a lot easier to use the internet AND, believe it or not, I've got quite a few veterinary medical books at home.  I don't rely on the internet as my only source.  Have you actually checked out some sources on the internet?  They don't always have to be vet journals to be reliable.  Although, I really love the human medical journals.  I haven't seen vet medical journals online, but I haven't looked either.  Here are 2 very reliable sources that I use a bunch-the Merck Veterinary manual(online version) and Cornell University has a great site(veterinary medical school).  Ya can't get much more reliable than those sources.

Anyway, instead of us going back and forth all the time we should just call a truce and help people.  Obviously, you and I love cats.  At least, that's something we have in common.  I also realize after rereading some of my posts on here, that I could've handled our differences more respectfully.  I apologize about that.

By the way, I just went to the vet expert forum and asked them about testicles growing back.  I will be open-minded.  If I am willing to be open minded then, I hope you are willing to be as well.

Here is the link to the post on the expert forum.

The liver is NOT the only organ that can regrow... and testicals can grow back (if you want to talk to my vet, msg me, I will give you is number) also give me a little time to get back to the Ohio School of Med to get a record of the Vet Journals I checked into.

Yes, this does happen with male children. Good thing we don't Castrate them.

Zod, I will repeat this till my face is blue...  Just because it is not on the internet, does not mean the studies do not exist.  Go to the library of congress and find out how many books they have coded, this coding does not include journal and periodicals.  You will find there are more sources at the Lib. of Cong than on the internet.

Not every publication has the money or time to scan and upload and code for the internet.  YOU have to realize that.  If you don't then maybe you just don't want admit that All You Rely On Is The Internet. And someone who does know and has read has the 'balls' contradict you because you have a longer time on MH than the other.

I would not say something about cats, dogs or other animals that I have no clue about; that I have not been educated about.

Yes, we may agree on some things.  But you need to get a clue about reseach aslo.  And a Clue about people who have been through this.

No....according to you balls grow back.  THAT can't happen (realism).  You mentioned undescended testicles, I agree that can happen.  It happens w/ male children, too.

About the leftover ovaries, apparently the doctor was not good.  The spay was done by her previous owners.  My vet wouldn't have done something so idiotic.

BTW, I do agree w/ you on some things.  I am NOT against you all the time.  Honestly!

Hmm, so the vet may have left something...interesting.  I thought that could never happen (sarcasm)  because of course it is rare, and rare things never happen, and for her to go into heat? Are you sure? Even just a little bit shouldn't have any impact, right? According to your theory.

Since the ovaries are a very distinct looking organ, I would think it impossible for a GOOD surgoen to miss even a sprinkle of them.

But, gee, what do I know.  I am a newbie here and now absolutely nothing.

No investergating but i got told the chances are highly unlikely that he would have some "leftovers". but i will take him back and get a good check over

maybe your cat is a "monorchid", meaning he has only one testicle and the other is undescended. These cats are still able to reproduce. I had a cat like that once.  Had him fixed and about 6 months later he was mounting every cat in the neighborhood.    Had to go back to the vet for 2nds

Hi, hon!  I was joking!!!!!!!!!!!  LOL  Sometimes, a vet can leave some leftover testicles in there that can cause the humping.  Remember, a "vet" left some ovaries after my mom's cat was spayed and that little bit of leftover caused her to be in heat.  I don't remember if I told ya that or not.  Did I?????  I think I did, about 20 posts ago in this thread.....I just don't feel like going back and reading all of this again.

If the vet is very confident that there were no leftovers, than maybe this humping is just a habit.  Did the vet do some investigating to make sure?  Did you ask him about the possibility?

When have you seen a dog get over humping unless they have been trained to not do so?

It is different with cats.  Cats and Dogs have different behaviours.  Cats DO NOT HUMP unless they are sexually stimulated in some way.  Either they have not been properly neutered, or they have not been neutered and there is a female in heat that is in the area.

Whiskey, you recieved my message.  It is more than time to get him re-examined.

Zod, STOP the newbie nonsense ****.  You don't know me, or my experience and education.

Hi hon, thanks for the update!  Whiskey is adorable but he needs to get over all that humping!  LOL  Maybe it'll get old to him after a while.  Well, we can hope, right?  =)

Well Whiskey's humping is not sexual. It is a habit, and it is going to be hard to break it. So   that is good news :)
