lumpy brownish nipple discharge

I have a 12 year old female cat who has had a lumpy nipple for some time which is about 1. 5cm in circumference. It now seems to have a brownish discharge around the area. She doesnt seem unwell and is eating and drinking normally

this really does need to be checked out by a Vet...could just be an infection but that seems odd when you say there is no lump..obviously it is irritating him thats why he keeps licking at it..I would use a small dab of apple cider vinegar rather than the polysporin..its not good for kitty to be licking the polysporin off.
even male kitties can get mammary cancers, again there is usually a lump...however the growth can sometimes be undetected on the exterior.

My 8 yr old male also has something maybe simular.
he has a bald spot near a nipple (could be the nipple) there are no bumps or lumps, this blad spot just leak a clear liquid, like water sometimes there is a hint of pink ( blood). He has no pain, eats and goes to the bathroom normally. When i put polysporin on it, it seems to stop leaking, sometimes it gets dry like, crusty, when he starts licking it again it starts to leak. Could this be cancer? something serious?

I would definately have a vet take a look preferly sooner rather than later. Has this nipple been examined prior to the discharge, as 1.5 cm cir. is pretty big for a cat. The lumpiness also concerns me. It very well could be inflammation, especially if she grooms it often. However with her age, I do also have concern for mammary cancer. Even with cancer, they can appear perfectly healthy...which is what makes cancer so tricky because lots of time there just aren't symptoms that there is something going on and they could have it for a long time without even knowing it. This is common to mammary cancer, where usually only at the end stage do they appear suddenly ill and decline quickly to death. So now is the time to get this check out while she appears well...this way if it is cancer there is still a chance surgery can cure it.

hi and welcome, I would really stress that you take your kitty in for a Vet exam, this could well be mammary inflammation(mammary hyperplasia)  or cancer and needs to be examined and properly diagnosed.
